Recently, one of our buyers received a letter in the mail from the “State Record Retrieval Board” stating that he needed to pay $87 by November 20th to get a copy of his deed for his new condo.
The letter looked official, but at closer inspection it looked like a private company that was not affiliated with any state agency. He did some research and discovered that this company had targeted new property owners in Ohio this summer. Click here to read the article.
